The capture guide
Capture the room.
Keep the feeling.
A good walkthrough starts with complete, steady images. Here’s how to bring your first property into HouseTour.
HouseTour currently imports complete 360° photospheres. Guided capture and automatic stitching inside HouseTour are not available yet.
Before leaving the property
A few minutes here.
A better tour later.
- 1
Keep the lens in one place
For a photosphere, rotate around the camera lens as closely as possible. Walking around while stitching can split door frames and nearby furniture.
- 2
Cover the whole sphere
Follow overlapping capture targets around the room, then cover the ceiling and floor. Retake missing areas instead of stretching or filling them.
- 3
Hold still and keep the light consistent
Clean the lens, avoid moving people, and pause for each frame. Where your capture app allows it, keep exposure and focus consistent.
- 4
Check the room in 360°
In the studio, look at windows, door frames, ceiling and floor. Check for blur, dark patches or broken seams before connecting the rooms.
- 5
Walk the route both ways
Place a doorway link and then its return link in the next room. Review the route before making the tour public.
File checklist

A 2:1 shape alone does not prove complete coverage. Check the actual room in the viewer. Larger originals need more memory on the viewing device; tiled delivery is still planned.
